A Day In The Life Of Me

This morning....

I may have set a new record!! I got up 20 minutes before I had to leave my house. And I only left 10 minutes late. 30 minutes to shower, find my books, shove them in my back pack, get dressed, and do my hair. I thought it was pretty good!

That last couple mornings, I just keep hitting the alarm one more time. Monday it was once-got up 6:30. Tuesday morning it was twice-got up 5:40. This morning it was 4 times- got up at 7:10. I'm pretty sure I can't cut it any closer than that. Hehe....but I may try sometime. :D

It's true...

I'm engaged. :D I know it's bad that I didn't get this post up sooner, but I have had a few other things on my mind. God is so amazing!

It's a Schick tradition to eat off the same plate, and my mom felt the need to uphold that tradition. :)

I did it!!

Yep, I did. I overcame one of my biggest fears in life-Needles.

I was a nervous wreck about it. All morning we went over how to draw up solutions, and the right methods and angles to use when giving shots. My stomach was in knots. Finally, we got around the actual getting and giving of shots.

Not until after I signed consent form did I find out that we had to get and give 2 shots. I almost backed out right then and there. I had agreed to get 1 shot, not 2. We had to do a subquetaneous injection (just below the epidermis) and an intramuscular injection (into the muscle). The SQ in my arm was great...Didn't hurt at all. The IM in my rear was another story. As my partner was drawing up the solution, I got a glimpse of needle; it was huge. I managed to yelp out my protest about the size, but my partner told me to roll back over and be quiet cause I was making her nervous. I obeyed-what else can you do when the person "in charge" is holding a big needle? I definitely tensed up and jumped when it went in. It hurt. And yes, I do have a very low pain tolerance.

After all that was over, I had to give my SQ and IM injections. I was shaky, and the first one went in very slowly (sorry about that, Jenn), but the 2nd went great. Giving shots is kind of fun!

Help!!!

Tomorrow I have to face my biggest fear of nursing school: needles.

Ok, laugh if you want, but I'm totally terrified of needles. And we have to both give them to and get them from other students!!

We had to watch videos on how to give shots this morning, and I couldn't watch.

My stomach is already in knots over it.
