Clinical
We had another day of clinical today. These days last forever. I get up at 5:30 in order to leave my house by 6:15, which never happens....it's more like 6:30. Then we all sit in pre-conference, which we all decided has no purpose but to allow us some time to wake up. Then for the next 5 hours we wander around, pretending we know what's going on, and doing half hearted assessments on our patients. The mornings go really slowing. Although today I got to give 2 pills (my first time giving meds ever!), and watch a bunch of guys get their nails painted. I got to hear this funny conversation the activity aid had with a more alert resident.
Resident: "I'm not getting my nails painted. What will these student Dr's think about all these men with their nails painted?"
Activity Aid: "They'll just think you're all nice men."
Resident: "No, they'll think we all need to have our meds adjusted!"
And after 5 hours of wandering, we sit in post conference and talk about everything under the sun that has no relation to what we're supposed to be talking about. And if post conference doesn't take up all time until we get to leave, we talk about more stuff that doesn't relate.
And that's what my Tuesdays are like.
