Thanksgiving break in pictures

Wednesday night was out to eat, bowling, and hanging out at Starbuck's night with the micro group. Gotta love to styling bowling shoes! I miss those girls so much!
We all have names for each other. L-R: Diti, Ang, K-Swiss, Schwinn, & Osass
Me holding my cousin's 2 week old. Yeah, he's pretty sweet, and yes, he does have a lot of hair.
The oldest and youngest members of the Pfaffmann family.
Waitressing at Jared and Sarah's rehearsal dinner.
Wendi and Caleb being bored at the reception. Wendi was cold, so she put wore his suit coat.

Other than that, I ate lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of food, set up Christmas decorations for hours, went to 2 wedding receptions in one day, studied until I was ready to quit school (which doesn't take very long), got a shot, got tested for drugs, and bought malpractice insurance.

24 hours from now...

I will officially be on Thanksgiving break for a whole week!! I am so superly excited about that!

So, Friday night I had the grandparent’s dinner at my house, and despite my awful dream about having all salad, everyone brought what they were supposed to. Although the weird dreams continue. Maybe it has something to do with eating right before I go to bed.

Well, other than that, I have nothing to say. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving, and remember to be thankful!!

Weird

I've been having some weird dreams lately. The first one was the other night when I dreamed that I was working at the nursing home, taking of a resident who died last week. He couldn't stand up, and I kept having to lower him to the floor, and then he hit his head and I got in trouble for it.

Last night I had dreams about the grandparents dinner I'm having at my house tomorrow. People kept showing up and instead of bringing the food they were assigned, they kept bring salad. So we had all salad and no rolls. It must have upset me, cause when the alarm went off, the comforter was off the bed and one of my socks was by my head. I never did find the other sock.

I'm a bit perturbed today because I have to re-write a paper I wrote yesterday. I spent over 3 hours writing this paper, and when I went to class website to get the teacher's email address in order to email my paper to her, I noticed that yesterday morning she changed what our paper is to be written on. I wasn't happy.

5 days till Thanksgiving break!!!

26 days till the semester (and finals) are done!!!!

Yesterday

Was Kalsey’s wedding.

She was beautiful.

They are darling.

The wedding was gorgeous.

I cried.

That’s pretty much the highlight of my weekend.

Ramblings

This week has been exciting. Ok, so not like super exciting, but not dull. I went shopping 2 days last week. I went for a shower gift, and then decided that I didn’t want to give it, so I had to go back and exchange it. And of course, while I’m at the mall, I have to take a look and see what’s for sale in the other stores too.  :)

Saturday night I hung out with the Kansas girls (and other random people) who came to kidnap Bethany. Maggie and Kristen did their best to persuade me to move to out there. I guess we’ll see just how good they are at convincing.

Monday night was Kalsey’s shower. It was fun, and I found out that the Home Depot caters rehearsal dinners. It was good to hang out with Kals and remember all the fun times we’ve had together over the years. I’m pretty proud of myself because last night I was up till 1:30 working on her scrapbook page (normally I don’t get around to it till long after they’re married). I shed a few tears while writing my letter. But it was all good. We are thinking about kidnapping her Sunday morning and taking her off the some far away place so she can’t get married.

I was pretty proud of my little brother this week (if he would read this, at the point he would remind me that he has a name – Adam). Saturday night he shot an 8 point buck and actually found it! Also, he’s pretty strong. We had a lifting contest to see who could lift the most. I may have won, but I can’t lift myself.

A post dedicated to Kate

I’m going on Kate withdrawal. I haven’t seen her or talked to her since Thursday. I miss her. She left me all weekend, and I don’t get to see her till tonight.  *sigh*   I miss her. (did I already say that?)

This is why I love Kate so much:

~ We can talk about nothing for hours
~ We can talk about life issues for hours and never get tired of it
~ She has opposite down times
~ She can always make me smile, even when I’m having an awful day
~ She’s really bad at hinting
~ I can tell her anything, and she still loves me and wants to be my friend
~ She keeps her cell phone on so I can call her anytime day or night (those 2am phone
     calls are the best!)
~ If you exclude jazz, she has great taste in music
~ She’s my encourager
~ She’s my “nursing mentor”

And I love her for lots more reasons.

I love you bunches, Kate!

I spent a lot of time yesterday getting lost

Last night I went to Champaign, because I am nice and I go visit my friends when they don’t live near me. Apparently, I don’t know my way around Champaign as well as I thought I did, and I discovered that Matt isn’t much better than me. After driving all the way to Mahomet, I finally got turned around and back to where I was supposed to be. I arrived at Jenny’s in time for supper. We were “mammals” and ate “nice pieces of meat” with our fingers and no plates.  Jenny tried on her suit for me, and we practiced tying ties with scarves, and went to Perkins to “study.” Oh, and she let me partake of her stash of root beer that is hidden in her desk. She let me sleep in her bed too, but only with much complaining.  *Grin*

I’m now “official” everyone! Yesterday (after making several phone calls regarding how to get there), I drove downtown for the first time in my life, and went to Methodist to register for my nursing classes! Yep, it was fun and I was excited.

I was also happy because I got my stats test back and I was really happy with my grade. I may like math after all. At least until my next test.

So, now I’m back home and super tired because college students in Champaign don’t get enough sleep.  Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
