Apple Pie
Last night Adam and I co-conspired and made an apple pie. We both think we make a pretty good pie, and we both think our way of making pie is better than the other person’s. Working together didn’t quite work as well as we planned, for an out and out fight on how to make the pie took place. I wanted to follow the directions and dump the half and half mixture over the apples once they were in the crust. Adam wanted to mix the apples with the half and half mixture and then dump it all into the crust. I got my way until he dumped the apples into my mixture.
Once it was all in the crust, Adam decided that we needed more apples cause he likes his pie to have a rounded top. I thought it looked fine. So he put in another apple. But (hehe) I ate half of it.
Pretty much the argument went on the whole time the pie baked. I said it should bake at 450 degrees for 13 minutes. Nope, it should be 425 degrees for 12 minutes. He should turn the oven on. No I should. Fine, if he turned the oven on, I had to turn the temperature down after 12 minutes. No, it’s 13 minutes. And on it went.
All in all, the pie turned out wonderfully, and we sat around eating warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream.
After this debate, Adam and I decided we should have a pie-baking contest. If you want to be a judge for this tasty event, let me know!
I have to agree with Jenny that making pie makes me happy, but I must confess that eating pie makes me even happier.

whoah, what kind of recipe do you use that you only bake for 13 minutes?
You're making me hungry...
Well...I guess I could make a sacrifice and do you guys a favor by judging your baking contest. :)
i've never eaten apple pie and i never will. true story.
NEVER EATEN APPLE PIE???
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
warm mushy apple don't appeal to me. in fact, i don't like any pie. at least it will help me not be fat.
traever, all males like pie...
did you just call me a girl?
you do have an hourglass figure... everyone knows that, at least I do
What kind of guy doesn't like pie?
Heidi-I will be a judge! I would even let you hand deliver the pie yourself. Then you wouldn't miss Colorado this year AND I would let you know who makes the best pie for sure:)
jsut so there's not a tie, i think i'll have to be the third judge!!
I don't like any kind of pie either.
That settles it, Wendi and Traever are both from another planet (which now excludes Pluto).
The way to a man's heart . . .
...is through his stomach!
*grin*
Actually (as every good nurse would know) it's through his veins.
HAHAHAHA
If the contest is in Alabama I'm so going to be a judge. Maybe we could comprimise and have it in southern IL. Let's meet in Metropolis. Home of Superman.
